The North Houston Association Announces their 2019 Award Winners

The North Houston Association (NHA) is excited to announce the recipients of the 2019 NHA Awards, which will be presented at a luncheon on October 15, 2020.

“Our original event was scheduled for May 21, but due to the COVID-19 crisis, we needed to postpone,” said NHA President Marlisa Briggs. “This year’s set of award winners are much deserving of an in-person celebration.”

NHA’s 2019 Compass Award, reserved for an NHA member who has made a significant contribution to the Association, will be presented to Darrin Willer, Vice President at HNTB and former NHA Board Chair.

The 2019 Environmental Impact Award, presented to a company or individual contributing to the preservation and protection of the north Houston region’s environment, will be awarded to the Harris County Flood Control District for the Cypress Creek Project.

The NHA board of directors voted to honor Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)’s Director of District Operations Quincy Allen, P.E. with the Association’s North Star Award for his years of work to improve mobility in north Harris County and Montgomery County.

Saving the best for last, Judge Jon Lindsay will receive NHA’s highest honor, the Visionary Award. This award has only been given to two people in the Association’s history, and because of Judge Lindsay’s incredible contributions, the award will also be renamed in his honor.

All honorees have confirmed to be in attendance to receive their award at this notable event, and both Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough will provide a State of the County address while attendees enjoy their meal.
