The North Houston Association has joined forces with a group of local organizations to advocate for increased comprehensive flood protection for the Houston region, including Montgomery, Harris and Fort Bend Counties.  To date, the group has developed a Hurricane Harvey Response Plan Brief and corresponding Harvey Response Map, and the plan is beginning to gain traction, with media coverage in Community Impact News, the Houston Business Journal, and KPRC-TV.

The plan calls for the construction of a third reservoir, increased bayou conveyance and buyouts that are strategically targeted toward homes that experience repeated flooding.

The group has collectively and individually contacted local and federal legislators via an electronic letter writing campaign in order to garner support and funding for Texas equivalent to other states who have been hit with natural disasters in the last decade.
