August 9, 2016 – HOUSTON – The North Houston Association (NHA) has hired a new executive director, Marlisa Briggs, to lead the organization. Briggs is replacing Paula Lenz, who recently retired after more than 13 years with the Association.

“We received Paula’s retirement announcement with sadness and much appreciation for an outstanding job well done. Under her guidance, the organization has grown and responded to the region’s needs while serving as a strong advocate for its members,” said NHA Chairman Darrin Willer, Vice President of HNTB Corporation.

“As we began the executive director search, one name kept rising to the surface, and we are so pleased to have Marlisa return to the North Houston Association. Her passion for NHA is evident and her knowledge about the organization is an added benefit.”

Briggs held the positions of project director and executive director of the Association in the 1990s, before pursuing public relations opportunities in the north Houston region.

“There aren’t adequate words to express how excited I am to be back at the North Houston Association,” said Briggs. “As I have worked alongside Paula during the transition, I have discovered that NHA is even stronger, healthier and more dynamic than it was when I was here last. The projects, committees and events that were core to NHA in the earlier years are still in place today, and new and valuable projects have been added in response to membership interests.”

The North Houston Association, on behalf of its members, identifies, advocates, and supports projects and initiatives which advance the business environment and improve the quality of life in north Harris and south Montgomery counties.
