Tim Joniec
Mr. Joniec serves as Director of International and Intergovernmental Development for the Houston Airport System (HAS), operator of George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), William P. Hobby (HOU) and Ellington Airports. As director, Tim is responsible for leveraging support from legislators, businesses and major chambers of commerce for issues and initiatives of interest to HAS; establish and maintain relationships with key local, national and international constituents to advance airport business and economic development. His work center actively participates in efforts to expand and relocate international and domestic business to Houston and provide vital support for new and expanded air service development to fuel the economy and increase traffic through HAS airports.
Core Responsibilities
- Intergovernmental - Maintain frequent communication and manage relationships with Federal and State Agencies/Departments to ensure domestic and international aviation and airport interests are at the forefront to maintaining an extensive and efficient air transportation network. Work closely to improve domestic and international passenger processing including security check points and Federal Inspection Services facilities.
- International -Organize programs and activities to; effect change, receive funding, institute procedures, reach goals and increase air traffic through the Houston Airport System. Educate diplomats and international businesses on processes for entering and exiting the U.S.
- Business Development – Assist international and domestic businesses, chambers, communities and constituents in efforts to expand or relocate business in Houston. Solicit international and domestic support for new and expanded air service.
- Special Projects/Programs – Lead and promote projects and programs that enhance the image of the Houston Airport System, City of Houston, and Texas as a desirable place live, work, visit and do business.
